On a work trip to Paris last year with the writer AA Gill and
photographer Mary McCartney, I noticed that 90% of our conversation
was about food; favourite restaurants, worst restaurants and
dissecting what we greedily ate that day (between Haute Couture
fashion shows) for lunch at Le Meurice. And if we veered off the
topic, Mary would soon steer it back again.
And now it all makes sense. Because last night Mary revealed the
book she's been secretly working on, called…Food.
As well as being a photographer, Mary has worked for the last ten
years as a consultant on Linda McCartney foods, the brand her
mother created. And many of the delicious sounding recipes in the
book have been inspired by her mother; Asparagus Tart, Butterbean
Stew, Coconut Rice Pudding.
And of course the book looks amazing too, with all the pictures
taken by Mary's very own and multi-talented hand.
